Remove from Google search results

Sometimes you want to remove webpage or product from Google search results. You cannot delete result straight from the Google index, but you can try these steps.

Remove content

Remove content from the website. If you own the site, that's easy. If not, you need to contact the site owner. After deleting content, Google will eventually remove that from the search results.

Robots.txt

Create 'robots.txt' file. In this file you can tell search engines which sites to index or not to index. Create 'robots.txt' file and save it to website root folder.

User-agent: *
Disallow: /product/

Google Search Console

If you own the website, you can ask Google to remove URL fast at Google Search Console. Usually this works very fast.

Wait

Irrelevant and old content will get pushed down and eventually get delisted. This will take time.
